What is hot desking?
It essentially refers to a facillity where desks are used by different people at different times, so no one person has a single desk. It allows for flexible working and times when different people can make use of a desk. Hot desking is thought to bring many benefits including increasing creativity, productivity and collaboration.
Hot desk etiquette
Here are some tips to ensure everyone gets the most out of hot desking:
- Booking desks are on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Make sure you are using the booking system to reserve a desk or have confirmation from us; priority will be given to those who have a reservation.
- Remember to cancel your booking if your plans change and you are no longer going to be in the office.
- Be considerate and respectful to others; It may be appropriate to take calls or have conversations in the breakout space.
- Adjust the chairs and desks to ensure you are comfortable and safe whilst working.
- You will be given a temporary access card to access the office areas. Please do not give to others and return this at the end of the day.
- Ensure you keep the desk clean after use, anti-bac wipes will be available.
- If you have any issues or requests on the day, someone will be available on the ground floor office to help. Just come and ask.
